cpp-ethereum is the third most popular of the Ethereum clients, behind geth (the go client) and Parity (the rust client). The code is exceptionally portable and has been used successfully on a very broad range of operating systems and hardware. cpp-ethereum is extremely portable and is used on a very broad range of platforms.
Nice tutorial mate.. need to really build a ethereum mining rig to get some good hash power. Or you can just use a cloud mining service.. I prefer the later because no noise in my house or power bill.

Mix, the developer IDE is still in its infancy and still needs a lot of work. If you are adventurous, you can try to run Mix by installing the cutting edge developer version of cpp-ethereum (see above) and then add this: 2ff7e9595c
